Offered by the School of Theology at the University of the South, Education for Ministry is a program of study and spiritual development for lay people. EfM takes place in small groups led by trained, certified mentors. Although it is a four-year program, participants sign up one year at a time. EfM groups are formed locally, perhaps at your church. Groups meet once a week, usually from September to June.
Being in a small group, EfM participants create a safe space of trust and love where they are able to explore faith more deeply. Through study, reflection and working together, group members are assisted in seeing their call to ministry in the world. EfM goes much further than bible study and participants will learn more about themselves and each other. Together, EfM groups will discover God’s gifts and learn how to offer these gifts to the world.
For more information contact the Coordinator of EfM for the diocese, Deacon John Musco: efm@dioceseli.org.
