The Creation Care Community of the Diocese of Long Island presents the annual Diocesan Celebration of Earth Day, Saturday April 20th at 11 AM at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City. 

The festivities will include a Celebration of the Eucharist for Earth Day. The Right Reverend Lawrence C. Provenzano, Bishop of Long Island, will preside. Kyle Pope, co-founder of Covering Climate Now and a member of St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Pro-Cathedral, will preach. 

A luncheon at the Mercer School of Theology will follow. 

The Celebration of the Eucharist will be live-streamed.

Kyle Pope is the co-founder of Covering Climate Now, a nonprofit collaborative aimed at helping news organizations from around the world do a better job of telling the story of the climate crisis. Before devoting himself full-time to climate work, Kyle worked for decades in the news business, as a reporter, foreign correspondent, and editor in chief. His work has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Nation, and elsewhere, and he has testified before Congress's Judiciary Committee about threats to the press. He is a member of the vestry at St Ann and the Holy Trinity, and lives in Brooklyn with his wife and three children.
