Reception to follow in parish hall.

The Rev. Jimmie Sue Deppe was ordained in 2014 by Bishop Thomas Ely (Vermont). Her first call was as curate associate at St. Michael's in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. In 2016, she was called to Church of the Epiphany in Rochester where she served as rector until coming to Church of St. Jude in November 2022.

While in the Diocese of Rochester Deppe served as co-chair to the Commission on Ministry, led the annual diocesan planning for participating in the PRIDE parade, and started her first term as secretary to Province II. Locally, she served on boards of the Ogden Library Board, Campaign D, and Gates Community Connections, and volunteered as a chaplain for the Gates Police Department.

Deppe grew up in Michigan, and through her service in the U.S. Army and love of backpacking, has been to several foreign countries, most of the larger National Parks, and many other places in the United States. Deppe settled down in Texas where she met her wife of 19 years. They have two grown children, Janna and Jacob, and an adorable dog, Theo.

Deppe writes, “I look forward to building deep roots in my new community, and to new adventures exploring Long Island and this side of New York State. I am so very excited to become the seventh rector of Church of St. Jude. We are an energetic bunch up to God’s good mischief! I am very grateful to be a part of the Diocese of Long Island.”
