The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries is excited to collaborate with organizations across the Diocese of Long Island to host the annual MLK Day of Service. Over the course of the week, we will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by bringing communities together in acts of service and solidarity. Join us for a variety of impactful projects and initiatives designed to make a difference in the lives of others and inspire a spirit of unity and compassion.

  • Community Kitchen at the Cathedral of the Incarnation / Mercer School of Theology
    • Description: Chefs of all ages are invited to prepare a warm winter meal for Neighbors Being Neighbors.

  • Packing Snack Bags for Community Help in Park Slope (CHiPS) at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church and Pro-Cathedral in Brooklyn

    • Description: The Gural JCC and Trinity-St. John’s Church are teaming up for a special MLK Day of Service. First, we will learn about  the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., exploring how we can work toward achieving his dream for social justice in our society. Then we will engage in a service project to provide less fortunate preschoolers in our community with Early Learner Family Resource Kits
