The Right Reverend Lawrence C. Provenzano, Bishop of Long Island, ordained Amanda Faville Henes to the sacred order of deacons on Saturday, May 13th at 11 am at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City.


Meet the Ordinand

Amanda Henes grew up near Madison, WI. In October 2022, Amanda began serving at the Cathedral of the Incarnation as a seminarian intern. She will be graduating this month with a Master of Divinity from General Theological Seminary and previously completed a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from General Theological Seminary. She received a Bachelor of Science in Bible and Ministry from Cornerstone University. Prior to entering seminary, She served two years in the Episcopal Service Corps and in 2019 served on the Task Force for Ministry with Individuals with Mental Illness, one of the General Convention interim bodies. Amanda’s interests include translating Greek and Hebrew, playing board games with friends, reading, and spending time with her, parents, brother and sister-in-law, three nephews, and her cat, Layil.
