The Rt. Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano, Bishop of Long Island, shares his thoughts as the 81st General Convention begins in Louisville, Kentucky. Over the next ten days, the bishops and clergy and lay Delegates from the Diocese of Long Island will engage in six days of legislative work, reviewing and voting on 200 to 300 resolutions.
Bishop Provenzano highlights that General Convention is a large family gathering for the Episcopal Church with a blend of prayer, fellowship, and legislative action. He asks for your prayers and support as the clergy and lay deputies of Long Island, along with all four bishops, participate in this significant work.
