Lois Johnson-Rodney Honored as a Distinguished Episcopal Church Woman

Lois Johnson-Rodney was honored as a Distinguished Episcopal Church Woman during a celebration of their 150th year as a women’s ministry in the Episcopal Church.

Lois has been a member of St David's, Cambria Heights in the Diocese of Long Island and The Episcopal Church Women for over 40 years. She served as Warden, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Coordinator, and on Finance and Building Committees. Lois was awarded a Citation of Honor from the Queens Borough President for Exemplary Leadership, a Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Service as Warden, a diocesan Citation of Honor, celebrating women of Character, Courage and Commitment and the elusive Bishop's Cross for Distinguished Service.

As a member of the ECW she was chaplain, President of the Diocesan Board, Chair of Book of Remembrance, Ministry in Action and Seaman's Institute, and was chosen to represent Province II on the National UTO Board, serving eight years on the UTO Executive Committee. Lois promoted the growth of programs of ministry, making her an invaluable member of the congregation, promoting growth of the ECW, by visiting many parishes in the diocese, encouraging more women to become involved!

She has mentored and prepared young women for various ministries in the church. She is truly a distinguished Episcopal Church woman. Congratulations, Lois. You've made us all proud.
