The Rev. Ellis Tommaseo was recently honored as a "MTA Hero" by ABC 7 Eyewitness News. Tommaseo, who is the Rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Great River and an Administrative Staff Analyst for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), noticed a teenager with autism walking in distress around the 96th Street Station in Manhattan. Tommaseo aided the teen, speaking to him in his native language of Slovenian, and helped him get on his train safely.
