This document is the official Delegate Certificate for the 159th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island, scheduled for November 14-15, 2025. It serves as a certificate of election for lay delegates, alternates, and youth delegates who will represent their congregations at the convention.

Key Details:

  • Eligibility & Requirements:

    • All delegates must be confirmed communicants in good standing and domiciled within the Diocese of Long Island.
    • Youth delegates must be under 18 and born after November 15, 2007.
  • Election Process:

    • Delegates and alternates are appointed by the Vestry or Bishop's Committee during an official meeting.
    • The number of delegates a congregation may elect is based on their number of communicants in good standing from the 2023 Parochial Report:
      • 0-300 members: 1 delegate, 1 alternate
      • 301-500 members: 2 delegates, 2 alternates
      • 501+ members: 3 delegates, 3 alternates
  • Submission Deadline:

    • The completed certificate must be submitted no later than June 15, 2025.
  • Certification:

    • The Rector, Priest in Charge, or Warden (for vacant cures) must verify and sign the document, confirming the eligibility of the delegates and alternates.
