Dr. Michelle Chester is an active member of Church of the Transfiguration for over 13 years. She serves as Warden of their Vestry, Lay Eucharistic Minister and presently serves on the Diocesan Council. Dr. Chester holds a Doctorate degree from Rutgers University Biomedical and Health Science, Master of Science Nurse Practitioner Certified Degree from SUNY Downstate University, Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Downstate University, Associates Degree in Nursing from Medgar Evers College, First Assist in Surgery Certification from Delaware county Community College. Dr. Chester has over 30 years of experience in healthcare. Dr. Michelle Chester is Senior Director of Operations for Employee Health Services at Northwell Health. Dr. Chester was integral to the success of Northwell Health’s COVID-19 response. Michelle administered the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in the United States as well as the first Moderna vaccine in New York State. She was honored and received the Premier Business Women of Long Island award for 2023. Dr. Chester presented the first ever prestigious Daisy award to a Caribbean nurse in Guyana, 2023. Dr. Chester serves as one of the founding members for the Diversity and Inclusion program at Northwell Health. Lastly, she is a dedicated mother of 4 beautiful children Winston, William, Khalil, Solandra and wife to a wonderful husband Solomon Andre’ Chester Jr.
